this is a picture from my birthday in march.  jesse and i went to the ritz hotel and had a blast.  we recently got a scanner so i uploaded my mini polaroid.  the weather has been beautiful lately.  jesse and i went to jeju island for our summer vacation.  it was a much needed break from school.  we rented a scooter and went all over the place.  went to the beach and visited a waterfall.  yesterday i had a playdate with a student of mine, angele.  i made her a quesidillia and we played scrabble.  then we went to baskin robbins, took pictures in a fun photo booth, and saw the movie ‘wall-e’.  which was as perfectly put by my friend peter, ‘adorable’.  i’m trying to figure out what i would like to do today.  i’m thinking of taking myself to the water park.    we will see.

it’s been a while since i’ve put up a post.  i’m sorry.  but life just hasn’t been that exciting.  jesse and i moved into a new apartment.  i love the place.  school…is so stressful.  but i’m doing my best to just go with it.  i love most of my kids that i teach.  the ‘kindies’ are the best.  i was doing pretty well for a little while hear, but now i’m kind of in a rut.  i’m glad to be half way done, but at the same time it’s hard to believe that i still have to be here for six more months. 

so, what can i write about…

lately i’ve been listening to a lot of neil young, the new morning jacket, and billy bragg & wilco

i’m trying to think of anything positive to write about, but it’s just not happening today. 

i guess this why i don’t post many blogs.

it’s still pretty cold, but it’s getting warmer.

i’m excited that my birthday is at the end of march, and even more excited that tesni is coming.
i think on my birthday i’m going to have a picnic, since it’s a saturday and i won’t have to work.
work is always busy.  i love teaching. i miss my friends terribly at home. and i can’t believe it’s going to be
another 10 months before i see them.  though, everyone says it will fly by.  my mom and my sister are coming
at the end of april and i can’t wait! it’s supposed to be beautiful in the spring. i’m going to start buying plants soon.
i want to cover my balconies with them.

i miss being a kid.

everyday, it has been the same thoughts.  i remember being a kid. i remember being so happy.  when did i first start relying my happiness on such unreal, meaningless thoughts.  it began with “if only…” high school was abounded “if only”.   i’ve reached out to people, many people. putting myself on the table. hoping that someone can take these thoughts and throw them away for me. that someone will say something and it will stick.  but the advice sticks like wet pasta thrown at a wall to see if it’s done cooking; it dries up and falls down. soon after their brief dormancy, these familiar and undeniably twisted comforts awake, and return to my head.  i’m left with “if only”

i have a tendency to just think about food.  the most delicious food i’ve ever eaten.  guacamole; hands down is my favorite.  avacado. garlic. tomato. onion. lemon juice. salt. amazing.

then there is eggplant parmesan. that is probably my favorite meal, next to meatloaf. then french fries dipped in mashed potatoes and gravy. 

my favorite sandwich, b.l.t or tuna.
